✧ Kolkata Metro : The Kolkata Metro, also known as the Calcutta Metro, was the first metro rail system in India. It was sanctioned in 1971 and began operations on October 24, 1984.

➲ Expansion and Modernization (1990s-2000s)
✧ Delhi Metro : The Delhi Metro was the second metro rail system in India, with operations beginning on December 24, 2002.
✧ Bangalore Metro : The Bangalore Metro, also known as Namma Metro, began operations on October 20, 2011.
✧ Mumbai Metro : The Mumbai Metro began operations on June 8, 2014.

➲ Rapid Expansion (2010s-Present)
✧ Mumbai Metro : The Chennai Metro began operations on June 29, 2015.
✧ Hyderabad Metro : The Hyderabad Metro began operations on November 29, 2017.
✧ Lucknow Metro : The Lucknow Metro began operations on September 5, 2017.
✧ Jaipur Metro : The Jaipur Metro began operations on June 3, 2015.
✧ Kochi Metro : The Kochi Metro began operations on June 19, 2017.
✧ Noida Metro : The Noida Metro, also known as the Aqua Line, began operations on January 25, 2019.
✧ Pune Metro : The Pune Metro began operations on March 6, 2022.

✧ Kanpur Metro : The Kanpur Metro began operations on December 28, 2021.
