As the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) is an important exam for employment in a great profession like teaching, Child Psychology and Development is an important subject among the subjects included in the TET exam. This subject is also an important subject in teacher training like B.Ed. and D.El.Ed. This is our special effort to help the students of teacher training and TET, where a topic will be discussed. Now the topic of discussion is the important topic of CDP Stages of Child Development.

1. How many stages can the life cycle be divided into?
A: The life cycle can be divided into eight stages, namely: i) Pre-natal Period, ii) Infancy (Birth – 2 Years), iii) Early Childhood (3-5 Years), iv) Middle and Late Childhood (6-12 Years), v) Adolescence (13-18 Years), vi) Early Adulthood (19-29 Years), vii) Middle Adulthood (30-60 Years), viii) Late Adulthood (61 Years and Above).

2. How many stages of development are there in the Pre-natal Period?
A: There are 3 stages of development in the Pre-natal Period, namely: i) Germinal Stage (first two weeks), ii) Embryonic Stage (2 weeks to 2 months) and iii) Fetal Stage (2 months to birth).

3. What is the importance of the Germinal Stage?
A: Three important events occur in the Germinal Stage, these are: i) Conception, ii) Implantation and iii) Formation of Placenta etc.

4. What is the importance of the Embryonic Stage?
A: The period of the Embryonic Stage starts after two weeks and lasts for two months, during which important organs are formed and the body systems develop.

5. What is the importance of the Fetal Stage?
A: The period of the Fetal Stage is from 2 months to birth. During this period, physical growth occurs regularly, movement capability develops and the functionality of brain cells increases manifold. Stages of Child Development

6. At what time in the prenatal stage does the baby’s brain form?
A: The baby’s brain is formed at 9 weeks in the prenatal stage and it is at this time that the differentiation of the ovaries and testicles is confirmed.

7. At what time in the prenatal stage does the baby’s smile develop?
A: At 12 weeks of prenatal stage, the baby’s smile develops and the circulatory system is functioning.

A: From 28 weeks of prenatal stage, fat accumulates in the baby’s body and the brain becomes specialized.

12. Which period in the prenatal stage is called the sleeping and waking period of the child?
A: The period after 32 weeks in the prenatal stage is called the sleeping and waking period of the child.

13. When does the baby’s weight increase gradually in the prenatal stage? Stages of Child Development

18. Early Childhood (3-5 Years) can be divided into how many parts?
A: In terms of the development of a child’s abilities, early childhood can be divided into three parts, namely: i) 3-year-old child. ii) i) 4-year-old child and iii) i) 5-year-old child.

19. What are the important characteristics of a 3-year-old child?

22. What are the important characteristics of a child during middle and late childhood (6-12 Years)?
A: Some of the important characteristics of a child during middle and late childhood are: i) All small and large muscles develop properly. ii) Complex motor skills develop. iii) The tendency to participate in group-based activities of the same sex increases from independent activities. iv) Acceptance by classmates plays an important role, that is, he tries to make himself acceptable to classmates. v) Parental permission is important for any activity of the child.

23. What are the important characteristics of a child during adolescence (13-18 Years)?
A: The important characteristics of a child during adolescence are: i) During this time, the child undergoes extensive physical, mental, emotional, and social changes, as a result of which the child becomes attracted to different directions and faces various problems due to the lack of proper guidance, so psychologists have identified this period as a stormy period for the child and his parents. ii) Puberty begins and the child is greatly affected. iii) The child becomes very concerned about his appearance. iv) He tries to establish his own identity. v) Conflicts arise with parents or other authorities on various issues.

24. What are the important characteristics of a child during early adulthood (19-29 Years)?
A: The important characteristics of a child during early adulthood are: i) Physical development is complete at this time. ii) Continuously develops emotional maturity. iii) Is fully aware of the importance and responsibility of his/her work and learns from criticism. iv) Develops socialization with same-sex groups and people with similar interests or desires.

25. How many stages has Pikunas divided the human life development cycle into?
A. American psychologist Justin Pikunas divided the human life development cycle into 10 stages, these are: i) Prenatal Stage: The moment before conception. ii) Natal Stage:  0-4 weeks. iii) Early Infancy: – 1-18 months. iv) Late Infancy: – 18 months to two and a half years. v) Early Childhood: – Two and a half years to five years. vi) Middle Childhood: 5-9 years. vii) Late Childhood: 9-12 years. viii) Adolescence: 12-21 years. ix) Adulthood: 21-70 years. and x) Senescence: 70 years to death.
