My dear Sayan,
I hope you are well by the grace of God. I am also well here. I cannot wait to share with you the most thrilling and proud moment of my life that I experienced yesterday.
Yesterday, on 23rd August 2023 at 6.04 p.m., I watched the live telecast of Chandrayaan-3 landing on the Moon. Our school Ramakrishna Vidyapith arranged a big LED screen in the hall. About 300 students and all teachers gathered there from 5 p.m. My heart was beating very fast during last 15 minutes. We were all praying.
When the Vikram Lander landed safely and softly on the south pole of the Moon, the whole hall burst into clapping, shouting “Bharat Mata Ki Jai” and “Jai Hind, Jai ISRO”. Teachers became emotional and we students jumped with joy. I felt goosebumps and tears of pride came in my eyes. India became the first country in the world to land on the south pole of Moon and fourth country to land on Moon.
I felt extremely proud to be an Indian. It shows that India can do anything if we work hard. ISRO scientists like S. Somanath made us all proud. This success will inspire students like us to love science.

My dear Bhai Sumit,
I hope you are keeping well. I am well here. I have been very worried since I heard from Maa that you spend 5 to 6 hours daily playing Free Fire and other mobile games. You do not study properly and even do not go to playground.
My dear brother, this mobile game addiction is very harmful. It will damage your eyes, cause headache, back pain, loss of concentration, lack of sleep and failure in studies. Games give only temporary fun but destroy future.
So I advise you to leave this bad habit and develop interest in science. Science is very interesting, magical and full of wonders. Read science books like science encyclopedia, watch ISRO rocket launches, Discovery Science channel. Try small experiments at home like making a volcano or solar system model. Join our school science club.
Science will give you real knowledge, curiosity and make your future bright. You can become a scientist like APJ Abdul Kalam and make parents proud. Mobile games only waste time and money, science gives knowledge and success.
I hope you will throw away mobile games from tomorrow and read one science story daily. I will bring you a book on Chandrayaan-3 when I come home.

Historic Landing of Chandrayaan-3 Watched Live in Our School

Asansol, 23rd August: A historic moment was witnessed with great pride and excitement in our school Ramakrishna Vidyapith yesterday.
The successful landing of Chandrayaan-3 on the Moon was watched live by students and teachers. Our Headmaster arranged a big LED TV and projector in the school hall. The live telecast from ISRO started at 5 p.m. About 300 students from Class VII to X and all teachers were present with great eagerness. National flags were in our hands.
At exactly 6.04 p.m. when Vikram Lander touched the south pole of the Moon softly, the entire hall erupted in loud clapping, cheering and shouting slogans “Bharat Mata Ki Jai” and “Jai Hind, Jai Vigyan”. Some teachers became emotional. We all felt goosebumps. India created history by becoming the first country in the world to land on the lunar south pole and the fourth country to land on Moon.
Our Headmaster then delivered a short speech on the importance of science, hard work and dedication of ISRO scientists. He congratulated all. Sweets and chocolates were distributed among all students. All students took pledge to take interest in science.
It was an unforgettable and proudest day for every Indian. We felt very inspired and proud to be Indian.

Grand Science Exhibition Held in Our School

Asansol, 11th Dec 2025: A grand and educational science exhibition was held in Ramakrishna Vidyapith, Asansol yesterday.
The exhibition was organized in the school hall and science laboratory at 10 a.m. on 11th December 2025. The District Science Officer, Paschim Bardhaman, Dr. P.K. Ghosh was the Chief Guest. The Headmaster inaugurated the exhibition by lighting a lamp.
Students from Class VII to X participated with great enthusiasm. About 50 working and non-working science models were displayed. The main attractions were Chandrayaan-3 moon mission model, water purification system, solar system, hydraulic lift, global warming effects, and drone technology. My model was on “Chandrayaan-3 Landing System” which showed how Vikram landed on south pole. Many visitors, guardians and students from nearby schools visited.
The Chief Guest visited all stalls, praised creativity of students and explained scientific principles. He said such exhibition creates scientific temper and curiosity among students which is need of the hour.
At 4 p.m. prizes were given. First prize went to Class X for Chandrayaan-3 model. The programme ended with vote of thanks. The exhibition was a great success and created huge interest in science among all.

Science is a great blessing of modern life. It has given us electricity, medicine, fast transport, mobile, computer, internet and made impossible things like Chandrayaan-3 moon landing possible. It has made our life easy, comfortable and long.
But science has also bad side. It has created atom bomb, missiles, chemical weapons which can destroy mankind. It has caused pollution, global warming and other problems.
So science is both blessing and curse. It depends on its use. We should use science for welfare, peace and development of mankind, not for destruction and war. We should be wise in using science.

Story – Robert Bruce and the spider[A]

Robert Bruce and the Spider – Try, Try Again
Robert Bruce was the famous King of Scotland. He loved his country very much. But his country was attacked by the powerful English army. Bruce fought many battles to free his country but was defeated six times. His army was scattered and he lost everything.
Being hopeless and sad, he hid in a lonely cave in a forest to save his life. He thought he would never win. He was lying in the cave, feeling depressed.
Suddenly his eyes fell on a small spider inside the cave. The spider was trying to reach the ceiling with its silken thread to make a web. It tried again and again but fell down each time. It tried one, two, three, four, five, six times and failed each time. But it did not give up hope. It had great perseverance.
At the seventh attempt, the spider succeeded and reached the ceiling. Bruce was greatly surprised and inspired. He thought, “If a small spider can try seven times to succeed, why can’t I, a king and a man, try again? I have failed six times, I will try seventh time.”
This thought filled him with new courage and hope. He came out of the cave, gathered his scattered army, made new plans and attacked the English army with full strength. This time he fought bravely and won the battle. He freed Scotland and became king again.
Moral: Try, try and try again / Failure is the pillar of success / Perseverance leads to success / If you try, you will win.

Wonder of Modern Science
Modern science has made our life wonderful, easy and comfortable. It is the greatest gift of our age. Science has given countless wonders which our forefathers could not imagine.
Science has given us electricity which gives us light, fan, AC, TV, computer. It has given us fast transport like bikes, cars, trains and aeroplanes with which we can travel long distances in short time. It has given us mobile, computer, internet with which we can talk and see anyone in the world instantly. In medical field, it has given X-ray, medicines and surgery which cure deadly diseases. In agriculture, it has given tractors, high-yield seeds and fertilizers.
The greatest wonder is ISRO’s Chandrayaan-3 which landed on south pole of Moon on 23rd August 2023 and made India proud. Science helps farmers, students and all.
In daily life we use gas, fridge, washing machine, mixer – all are gifts of science. Without science life would be dark, hard and helpless like in ancient times.
